A design system is not a binder of unused components. For a small brand it is a short set of rules: type sizes, spacing, one accent, and a handful of patterns you reuse every week. Start from the subscribe flow and work outward — if that path feels consistent, the rest of the product usually follows.

When everything is improvised, every new page invents spacing and every email invents a button. Readers feel the friction even if they cannot name it. A shared system makes the next article cheaper to ship and the next issue safer to send.

  • Body, list, and quote styles that match on web and email
  • Chrome labels that editors can rewrite without touching code

  2. Build Article Body and Story from the same content model
  3. Preview the newsletter before the first live send

Easy to understand; consistent; portable from Figma to Astro and email.
